Module 3 & 4
1. Try to look at your parents or your guardians. When can you say they are being egoistic? Altruistic. Give one scenario for each.
Answer:
My parents are egoistic in terms of a parent and a son or daughter misunderstandings. My parents won’t allow us to talk back to them or controls them in their decisions for each one of us. They are being egoistic because they must have the power in everything for the family. Selfish enough for they won’t let us talk for ourselves because they consider it as an insult. Altruistic in terms of thinking the best that we can have, they gave what we need every day as a student and as their son and they disciplined us to become a better person someday, so that sooner if we will be in their place we would know the best for our future children.
2. If you are to assess yourself, what kind of a person are you? Are you an egoist, or an altruist? Discuss in relevance to your own experiences in computing.
Answer:
For my own opinion I am an altruistic at the same time an egoistic because I sometimes think for my own self considering that I may hurt somebody. Egoistic to the point that I won’t let somebody borrow some stuffs I have refraining from lost or damages it take. I may be altruistic in terms of sharing to those that are in need, giving for what I have it may be a little but needed for them especially those that belongs to the below level class. I take chances to give what exactly I have now for some may not be lucky enough for having something like clothes, slippers and any kind that can be useful. Being an egoistic or altruistic must be balanced, for sometimes a person may be egoistic for a purpose and altruistic in the same manner.
3. As Aristotle says, “for as it is not one swallow or one fine day that makes a spring, so it is not one day or a short time that makes a man blessed and happy.” … Discuss in relevance to your own experiences in computing
Answer:
Happiness depends on us. Looking back for what I am now as a computer science student, I am not satisfied for being me as for my career its just because before, I consider the experience in myself as happiness if it is in good times even that time is not worth it to be happy and blessed, a short period of time of being so irresponsible in some cases and dependent to my classmate sometimes. I injure the outcome the years passed by for what I thought it was really the happiness in me, but I was wrong for I made the wrong move and decision which causes me to fail. We can gain happiness that can be hold for a period of time which came from a productive experience.

Ethics and Law
1. If you are to become a part of the VSU team who will formulate a handbook like that of Virginia University, give at least 2 policies that you want to be implemented in VSU or even just for CS students like you, regarding computing . Also include sanction or sort of punishment to those who will violate the said policy.
Answer:
If I will become a part of the VSU team, I will formulate policies in the VSU specifically for the Computer Science students like me. The Policies that I will implement are:
• Proper use of Our Computing Resources.
Every student that uses the school facilities or resources specifically computers, during laboratory should use it in regards to the subject matter. Other works out of it, like surfing websites or accessing some applications that are very unpleasant are seriously restricted.
• Prohibition of File-sharing.
File-sharing is the process of exchanging files over the Internet. The most common forms of file-sharing are: running an FTP server or using an FTP program, utilizing Internet Relay Chat (IRC). Peer-to-Peer programs typically share files by default, to allow the maximum amount of sharing across the network.
These policies are very important especially for students not to exercise the misuse of the resources especially owned by the school. An action that has been done continually may turn into a habit that is hard to stop. So any misuse and abuses of the University facilities and will violate the policy will be subject to full disciplinary action within the University Judicial System and could never again use the school’s resources, and if so maybe lead to suspension. Students are expected to be responsible in using the school facilities, resources of computing to avoid such punishment.
2. According to the definition of ethics, it can be connected to the norms or custom of the society. What could be ethical to one could be unethical to another. If this is the case, in which ethics seem to be subjective in nature, why is there a need to study computer ethics at all? Support your opinion with facts.
Answer:
There is a need to study computer ethics for it helps the behavior and conducts of the people dealing to anybody with the right norms considering morality. Ethics is a set of rules in distinguishing between right and wrong, it could also be a code of professional conduct, or norms of conduct that distinguish between acceptable and unacceptable behavior. Although most people acquire their sense of right and wrong during childhood, moral development occurs throughout life and human beings pass through different stages of growth as they mature. We should study computer ethics because doing it will make us behave like a responsible individual. The study of computer ethics has different areas where it could be considered applicable. One factor is the computer which is used for litany of things today which used your identification, passwords, banking information, etc. which is a non-good practice for each and everyone. Although most societies use laws to enforce widely accepted moral standards and ethical and legal rules use similar concepts, it is important to remember that ethics and law are not the same. An action may be legal but unethical or illegal but ethical.
3.There are 4 types of non-jural law. Divine, natural, moral and physical. If you are to practice just one type of the non-jural law for the entire existence of your life, what would it be and why?
Answer:
The type of the non-jural law that I will practice for the entire existence of my life, is the moral law. This law refers to the rules of behavior of an individual or a group which may follow out of personal conscience and that are not necessarily part of legislated law, one action should be done accordingly and in a righteous way. I have chosen this kind of law because by practicing this, I may acquire the trust, respect, and love from the people that surrounds me. Immorality has a consequence after doing such a thing wherein a protected dignity, reputation, good morality and a clean conscience are one of the most important things one person can acquire wherein no one can eventually get it or take it away from you, because naturally it is in the inner part of us and it can only attain by being aware of the actions that I will be doing from time to time and each day of my life.

Ambitions in Life as a Computer Science Student
1. What would you like to be 5 yrs from now? (hopes, aspirations, wishes)
Answer:
To become a professional is my goal and dream. I want to achieve everything depending on my capacity and strength with the support of my family and love one, through this I may become a better person and a true man. I will look myself five years from now having a good job with good salary enough to support my needs and my family. Sitting on a chair with an air conditioned room having a software project given or assigned to me or having a business for an additional income. I wish to have a simple and happy life, with my own car, house and gadgets gaining from my own income.
2. If you are to develop a program to promote moral values, what program would you do? and why?
If Im going to develop a program or a software that promotes moral values, this program is a game that helps to enhance moral and spiritual value to the children, because children nowadays are fund of computer games, games that are not sometimes suitable for their ages. That's why I would like to create a game that has a moral lesson that they could apply to their lives when they are still in their growing stage and learning stage as well, wherein their minds will be manipulated from the values they learned if they can experience something while growing up. 3. If you are a machine, what would you be and why?
If I'm going to be a machine I would like to become a laptop, it's because laptop is a handy gadget used by every person who is literate in using it and a part of their lives as well, laptops brings satisfaction to very individual during searching and finding information, for it is a tool-giving information, giving knowledge which were in the past decades that can only be gained by constant searching from the libraries. Also, people can always be updated in news and entertainment and of course with the accessibility through internet. Additionally people can also check their account balances from the banks they deposited their money to. With the use of the laptop people may also do business transactions from other companies and the people involved, and most importantly to be enable to communicate with the families and friends afar of. In other words, laptop helps a lot in every aspects of our lives.
